Healing both mind and body

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, fatigue — or physical symptoms that don't seem to have a clear cause? Have you tried talk therapy but still feel stuck, like something deeper hasn’t shifted?

Often, the root lies not only in the mind, but in the body.

Chronic stress and trauma can keep the nervous system in a state of fight, flight, or freeze — long after the original event has passed. It can show up as emotional overwhelm, physical tension, numbness, or a sense of disconnection.

Traditional talk therapy often focuses on thoughts and insight, but lasting change requires that we also address how stress is held — and released — through the body.

In body psychotherapy and EMDR, we work gently with the mind, body and the nervous system.

We help you reconnect with your inner experience and restore a felt sense of safety — for deeper and more lasting transformation.

Body psychotherapy is a whole-person approach that integrates both the mind and the body.

Despite the name, it’s not just physical — and it’s not just talk. Sessions often include conversation and reflection, but also invite awareness of your body: breath, posture, sensations, and the subtle signals of your nervous system.

We use a blend of verbal and non-verbal methods — such as dialogue, body awareness, breathing, gentle movement, and grounding techniques — to help you reconnect with yourself more fully.

This approach supports the release of deeper patterns held in the body and fosters a greater sense of presence, resilience, and emotional well-being.

What is body psychotherapy?

  • chronic stress and emotional overwhelm

  • trauma — including developmental, relational, and shock trauma

  • anxiety and panic attacks

  • depression and emotional numbness

  • psychosomatic symptoms and chronic tension

  • difficulties in relationships and intimacy

  • feeling disconnected from your body and emotions

  • low self-esteem and inner criticism

  • lack of purpose or joy; a sense of “just surviving” rather than living

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a highly effective approach for working with trauma, anxiety, and overwhelming life experiences. It uses bilateral stimulation — often eye movements — to help the nervous system safely process memories that were too overwhelming to fully integrate at the time.

By gently activating both sides of the brain, EMDR helps you move through the “stuck” responses of fight, flight, freeze, or collapse, so your body and mind can return to balance.

Many clients experience relief from symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, emotional numbing, and intrusive thoughts — often in fewer sessions than with traditional talk therapy.

This method is recognized by international health organizations and supported by decades of trauma research.

Hi, I'm Vanja.

I am an EMDR therapist, Body psychotherapist under supervision, Mindfulness and Yoga teacher.

I support clients in recovering from trauma, managing stress, anxiety, and depression, and building healthier relationships with themselves and others.

My approach to therapy is body-oriented, meaning I use the body as a base for exploring the psyche and mind-body connection.

Alongside body psychotherapy, I integrate:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

  • Somatic Experiencing (SE)

  • Mindfulness

  • Parts work (IFS)

This diverse training allows me to adapt my approach to each person’s unique needs and support their healing process more effectively.

I believe that the client–therapist relationship is central to healing. I offer a compassionate and intuitive presence that helps clients safely unfold their true selves.

It’s a great honor for me to share my knowledge through individual therapy, group training, and online education.
